Background

Dr. Gardner is a professor of mechanical and biomedical engineering at Boise State and directs the energy efficiency activities at the Center for Advanced Energy Studies.  John has been an engineering faculty member for over 30 years, and at Boise State since 2000. His work includes research and education to promote the efficient and effective use of energy.  Professor Gardner received his Bachelor’s degree from Cleveland State University in 1981, and his MS and Ph.D. from Ohio State in 1983 and 1987, respectively.    He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed research publications, 2 textbooks and is co-inventor on 3 US Patents.  He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Idaho and a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
