Background

Lisa Cooper has spent most of her career working at the intersection of economics and social justice, as a deep believer in the power of business to influence social change.

After 20+ years of leadership in sustainable, responsible and impact investing, Lisa founded Figure 8 Investment Strategies, which brings a multi-cultural perspective to providing financial advice and sustainable investment management for individual and institutional clients. Lisa is also the co-founder of Global Talent Idaho, a nonprofit program enabling skilled refugees and immigrants to reclaim professional careers in their new country.

Before launching Figure 8, Lisa served as equity analyst and portfolio manager at Smith Barney Asset Management, Nelson Capital Management and Trillium Asset Management, managing investment portfolios designed to meet clients’ financial and social objectives. Lisa has also served on multiple local and national non-profit boards, including those of the EcoLogic Development Fund, The Forum for Sustainable & Responsible Investment, Verite’, Radio Boise, and as an advisor to the UC Berkeley/Haas School of Business Socially Responsible Investment Fund and the Responsible Business Initiative at Boise State University.

Lisa holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, and is a Certified Financial Planner® and Chartered Financial Analyst.
